Dr. Todd Shatkin is the director of dentistry at the Centre. He, along with his associates Dr. Diane Witczack and Dr. John Lucchese, perform all aspects of General, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. Dr. Shatkin has been in practice for 25 years. Cosmetic Dentistry has been a focus of his and he has been in the fore- front of new dental procedures including: being one of the first dentists in WNY to do Porcelain Veneers. He is an expert in Dental Bleaching and is the developer of bleaching products used throughout the dental industry. Mini Dental Implants were brought to W.N.Y. by Dr. Todd and his late father, Samuel Shatkin, D.D.S., M.D, more than 15 years ago. Together they brought an alternative to the conventional implants which can take up to 8 months to be completed. The mini implant can be immediately loaded with dentures or a fixed prosthesis to offer an immediate solution to loose dentures or one or more missing teeth. His continued research with minis and development of his patented “F.I.R.S.T. Techniques” has rocketed the Shatkin name to national and international name recognition.

In 2003 Shatkin F.I.R.S.T was born, taking the knowledge and experience of Dr. Todd and his father, Dr. Samuel Shatkin, together they have educated doctors from around the country and the world. To date Dr. Todd Shatkin has trained over 20,000 dentists on his F.I.R.S.T techniques for placing Mini Implants. At The Shatkin Learning Centre, located in Amherst, New York. Dr. Todd Shatkin offers eight two day courses in Amherst. In addition to courses are offered in other cities such as Las Vegas, Orlando Salt Lake City and Destin, Florida. Dr. Shatkin was also asked to lecture and perform “Live” surgery at the Greater New York and Chicago Midwinter Dental Meetings. Both were in front of standing room only crowds of 600+ dentists. In April 2015, Dr. Todd was invited to be one of the Keynote Speakers for the 37th Annual Asian Pacific Dental Conference, held in Singapore. It was quite an honor for Dr. Shatkin and Buffalo.
